Taking Risks

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach for another is to risk involvement.
To expose your ideas, your dreams,
before a crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To believe is to risk despair.
To try is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken, because the
greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The people who risk nothing, do nothing,
have nothing, are nothing.
They may avoid suffering and sorrow,
but they cannot learn, feel, change,
grow, love, live.
Chained by their attitudes they are slaves;
they have forfeited their freedom.
Only a person who risks is free

It's the night before I leave for Chicago and begin my journey to Italy. Finishing packing today was really stressful and now I can't sleep because I am worried about forgetting something. It is weird to think that this will be the last time in my own bed for 4 months. Tomorrow me and the fam are going to Chicago for the day to see Jersey Boys. I am excited to see the show, but its the last "big thing" before I leave Monday. I know that this experience will be amazing and I will love every moment but I am definitely nervous. I know the importance of taking Risks and I know this opportunity will give me a chance to change, grow, learn and live.
The adventure begins tomorrow so I suppose sleep would be a good idea :)
